Abstract

This study is conducted to determine the relationship between self-awareness and relational transparency on task performance. A cross-sectional survey using a questionnaire was conducted on 823 employees of some selected manufacturing companies within the three geopolitical zones in Nigeria. The collected data was analyzed with PLS-SEM, version 2.0. PLS-SEM Bootstrap procedure was employed to evaluate and assess the statistical significance of the relevant path coefficients. The findings disclosed a positively significant and direct relationship between the exogenous and endogenous variables. Generally, the outcome of this study has contributed to knowledge by revealing how self-awareness and relational transparency influence employee task performance. The study would be useful to the manufacturing company’s employees and management, organizational policies and strategies makers cum researchers. Limitations of the study were highlighted and germane on recommendations for future studies were made. The study recommends that HR managers and practitioners should prioritize, promote and propagate organizational culture that will improve on the exhibition of self-awareness and relational transparency from their respective employees towards the realization of their task performance.
