Abstract

Performance measurements in accounting and finance literature are dated from time immemorial. The measurement parameters have changed due to the dynamics of modern-day business organizations and how they are structured. It is imperative to devise robust performance measurement metrics to collectively measure organizational performance. The balanced scorecard was designed to address the shortfall of previous performance measurement techniques. This study examines the implementation of a balanced scorecard in Philip electronics to provide a better understanding of the concept in practical terms. The study recommends the use of these measurement metrics in both public and private settings in Nigeria.
